Hi� I�m one of Aneche�s alter ego�s, Luddie. I�m not a Luddite� you should have guessed this� ummnn� you are on the web and Luddites aren�t known for their use of technology! You see, back in the early 1800�s, 1810-1815 primarily, there was a group of counter-technology terrorist in England led by a fellow by the name of Nedd Ludd. This nasty fellow led his followers into factories to destroy the steam powered looms; Ned and his followers saw this technology as a threat to their lively hood. They could have just as easily seen it as an opportunity. That is the reason I�m on a soapbox! I really have a great dislike for those who see every little scientific advancement as a threat especially the WEB. Today you can pick up news papers, magazines, watch the news, or hear it on talk radio. This fear-mongering is every where. People are afraid that their child is going to see something they should not� that some how the whole of the WEB is bent the subversion of children, that the only people using the net are radical extremist with an agenda, or the old stand by, porn peddlers. HEY FOLKS GUESS WHAT, WE"RE JUST A BUNCH OF PEOPLE WITH A FEW THINGS TO SAY� I could care less about your kids, I�m not in a militia, and I don�t want you to see my MR. Winky!!! GET OVER YOUR SELVES� the world does not revolve around you. Why not take the opportunity to realize that knowledge is power and WEB is the greatest source for knowledge on the planet, empower your selves. | Ludd Works | ||||||||||||||||
